Botanica, created by Tokujin Yoshioka for Mutina, is an evocative mosaic collection inspired by the quiet poetry of nature. Drawing from the organic geometry of petals and seeds, the series reimagines the mosaic tradition with contemporary forms, tactile surfaces, and subtle plays of light and shadow.
The collection is composed of two sculptural modules: Seed (14×15 cm pieces on 40.5×23.7 cm nets) and Flower (15×17 cm pieces on 41.1×23.5 cm nets), each available in White or Grey with either a super-glossy glaze or a matte wax-coated finish. These surfaces gently catch and diffuse light, making Botanica especially expressive in environments where illumination shifts throughout the day.
Produced in glazed, non-rectified porcelain stoneware using an innovative digital dry-glaze technology, Botanica offers a soft, pre-engraved texture that enhances both touch and visual depth. The mosaics are suitable for floors and walls, indoors and outdoors, inviting continuous surfaces shaped by fluid, natural rhythms.
Whether used with tone-on-tone grout or contrasted with bold colours (as suggested throughout the catalogue’s grout examples), Botanica adapts with versatility — from serene spa-like bathrooms to expressive feature walls in residential and commercial spaces.
