Bloc, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Mutina, is an architectural system of extruded terracotta blocks that redefines the traditional partition element. Each 13×13×10 cm module is crafted through an artisanal extrusion process, resulting in natural irregularities, expressive texture, and a tactile, handcrafted presence.
The surface is punctuated by four circular perforations, which create graphic rhythms and dynamic plays of light and shadow. Bloc is available in three finishes — Natural, Matt, and Glossy — and five colours: Natural, Pearl, Grey, Red, and Blue, shown across both the technical sheet and catalogue photography.
Designed for walls up to 4 meters high (depending on anchoring), Bloc can be installed indoors or outdoors (Natural finish only outdoors), functioning as partitions, feature walls, screens, and architectural dividers. Complementary pieces — including tubes in Red and Blue, and linear/top profiles for installation — allow for functional and decorative customization.
The result is a sculptural, contemporary building element that blends artisanal craft with architectural precision, ideal for commercial spaces, boutique environments, hospitality projects, and expressive residential designs.
