Osso & Bottone, designed by Ronan Bouroullec for Mutina, is a sculptural porcelain stoneware collection created specifically for outdoor surfaces, while performing equally well indoors. Drawing from traditional outdoor flooring materials, the collection merges durable full-body porcelain with refined contemporary forms. The result is a tile system that blends seamlessly with natural surroundings, creating a soft visual rhythm that shifts with light, shadow, and grout colour.
Each tile is shaped through perimeter cuts that generate deliberate voids. When installed, these voids fill with grout, revealing distinctive surface motifs:
Osso features a narrowed, bone-like silhouette.
Bottone forms perfect circular “button” shapes when two tiles meet with a 4 mm joint.
These void-and-solid interactions create patterns that evolve across the surface, producing an optical vibration that activates both flooring and wall applications.
Made from unglazed, full-body coloured porcelain, Osso & Bottone offers strong technical performance, natural slip resistance, and a beautifully tactile ceramic texture. Available in five earthen tones—Sabbia, Grigio, Rosso, Blu, and Verde—the collection is designed to harmonize with exterior landscapes while maintaining the elegance required for interior design.
With four sizes across Osso and Bottone modules, the collection supports endless combinations, geometric arrangements, and grout-colour creativity. Whether used in patios, garden paths, entryways, feature walls, or interior floors, Osso & Bottone brings a crafted, architectural presence to every project.
