Mattonelle Margherita, designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier for Mutina, is a vibrant exploration of colour, pattern, and expressive design. Created “for everyone” and “for the fearless,” the collection merges hand-drawn decoration with the warmth and charm of traditional Italian ceramic craft. Featuring 41 unique patterns — from geometric motifs to floral graphics, stripes, grids, diamonds, and solids — the series encourages limitless creativity and bold, personalized compositions.
Tiles are produced in glazed porcelain stoneware, made “as they once were” through a traditional industrial process. Extensive research into reactive glazes gives the surfaces a silky semi-gloss finish and bold, saturated colours. Pure white and transparent waxy glazes are applied generously to create lively, tactile surfaces where colour is absorbed deeply and vibrantly.
Available in two modular formats — 20.5×20.5 cm and 10.1×20.5 cm — the full set allows designers to craft everything from minimalist spaces using a single plain tile to expressive feature walls, patterned floors, decorative “carpets,” door surrounds, high skirtings, and boiserie-style installations.
Playful, contemporary, and delightfully unconventional, Mattonelle Margherita transforms floors and walls into creative canvases — ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, small spaces, hospitality interiors, and bold residential designs.
